What do you understand by Merry Christmas? Christmas is a Spiritual celebration where Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is held on the 12 month of each year that is in December every 25th, this Day is a Holiday to all.
‘Merry’ means to rejoice celebrate in a festive way by having fun and ‘Christmas’ has ‘Christ’ as the first part of the spelling means the ‘Anointed’ is a title given to Jesus who was a Holy man living spiritually and ‘mas’ which is the second part of the spelling of ‘Christmas’ means to celebrate coming together or a service assembling.
Bearing this in mind Merry Christmas is the coming together to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus who was born in Bethlehem and was from Nazareth, His mother was Mary and father Joseph who was a Carpenter as the Bible tells us.
Merry Christmas is use as greetings during the festive season in December. December is the time of the year where we Merry celebrate the Holy One Jesus Christ who was from Nazareth on 25th December where it is assumed it is His birth date so like His Birthday. The following day which is the day after Christmas 26th December is Boxing Day and is always a Public Holiday this is when people open their presents (like Box in), when I was young I thought it was a reference to Sport Boxing it turned out not to be so.
Family and friends come together to celebrate Jesus in the name of God on 25th December Christmas Day. Decorations are put up before the big day, Christmas cards are giving out, presents are shared, gifts are giving to the poor and feast on delicious food with good music are enjoyed on Christmas Day. Most people goes to Church on Christmas Day or stay at home to celebrate and there are lots of parties held in December to celebrate the festive season and holidays. The New Year which is the 1st of January is the beginning of a New Year is also a Holiday.
Jesus was sometimes referred to as Jesus Christ of Nazareth or Christ Jesus as He was Holy.
